Programs & Classes

There is something for everyone at Bakewell Farm. We are proud to offer programs for artisan bakers honing their craft, tourists looking to learn more about Adams County, residents and local non-profits pursuing opportunities to strengthen connections within our community, and companies and organizations seeking a venue for team-building conferences or spiritual retreats. 

Classes for 2019 include:




Bread Corps

This hands-on course introduces service-learning opportunities for young people. While learning to make pizza, students will explore tangible ways that they can give back to the community.

Rustic Tart Dough

Learn how to make this flaky, buttery and versatile pie dough. Both savory and sweet fillings are explored in this two-hour class that covers mixing, shaping and baking. 

French Bread 101

What makes French bread, French? Get answers to this vexing question and much, much more. Topics include: the role of flour, pre-ferments, shaping techniques and baking. 2-hour hands-on class.

Focaccia with Variations

A close culinary cousin of pizza, this is a thicker version baked in a sheet pan with a tender open crumb. Perfect accompaniment to a hearty soup, salad or cut open and stuffed with your favorite sandwich fixins. 

Sweet & Savory Rotolo

Think rolled up pizza that is cut into sections “pinwheel style” and then baked to a crispy finish. These handheld beauties are perfect for your next party pass around.

Folding New Flavors

This class will explore how you can change any base dough and shift the flavors and textures to suit your fancy. In this class you will get to work with both a yeasted and sourdough base.
